Banbury Bears is the first Basketball England affiliated club in Banbury. Formed in 2025, Hazel started the club as there was nowhere locally for her son to continue his basketball training upon leaving primary school.
We started with 4 free taster sessions in the summer of 2025, funded by Active Oxfordshire and the You Move project. Coaching was provided by Hotshots Basketball, who have provided after school clubs in Cherwell Primary Schools for over 20 years. The summer sessions were so successful that the club began training on 8th October 2025.

We run training on Wednesday and Friday evenings.
School Years 3 & 4: Wednesdays, 5pm – 5:45pm
School Years 9 to 11: Wednesdays, 5pm – 6:30pm
School Years 5 & 6: Fridays, 5.30pm – 6:30pm
School Years 7 & 8: Fridays, 6.30pm – 7:30pm

We also have recreational training for men aged 18 and over on Monday nights, 9.15pm – 10pm.
We are looking for a Kit sponsor for our squad so we are able to compete in the local league as soon as possible.
